HIS THEME WAS "LAIRD IS THE FAVORITE"

He picked the birthday theme himself and got a photo on everyone's lap because, you know, he's the favorite.  It was hilarious.

This is one of my favorite pictures - Landon's face is, 'you've got to be kidding me'.  Cracks me up!

 

We had mac and cheese potluck - everyone brought their favorite mac and cheese creation.  It was delicious and super cheesy

The birthday cake was a pole vaulting cake - with our favorite 17 year old clearing the crossbar.

It was a fun celebration - lots of food, laughs, presents and our infamous birthday singing.

LAIRD IS 17!

Say what?!

Tomorrow is the big family party, so tonight we had a simple family celebration.  No doubt, Laird will want to carry the celebration all the way through the weekend.  I know I sure would!

At the top of his birthday wish list was dinner at Five Guys.  That was an easy wish granted - check!

His other birthday wish was to have a huge wedding cake for this birthday cake.  Hahaha, no.  Wish not granted.

What he got instead was an amazing vanilla caramel cake with meringue buttercream.  The homemade caramel sauce was incredible.  Next time I make the sauce, it's being tripled.

We had fun on our family birthday date celebrating our guy turning another year older and another year wiser.  We love him!

LACH IS 7 TODAY AND WE

celebrated tonight with a family potluck.  Everyone brought their favorite childhood meal, put on party hat, a mustache and we had a grand ole time.

This guy of ours has the best happy-go-lucky spirit, he's positive and always finds joy.  He adores his older brothers and we are all so glad that he was born and that he's our family caboose.

We ended the party with water balloon launching.  One of our best summer purchases!

Even though it's not bonfire worthy, we still had to open the doors and windows to air out the smoke.

One of the highlights of the party were our cute dads and their lap dogs.

We ate rootbeer float cake and drank rootbeer floats too.  We had presents, balloons and lots of family to help celebrate the birthday boy.  Three cheers for a wonderful year for my man!
