HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

This guy is the jam to my toast and the HE in my sHEnanigans.  He is an amazing father to our man clan and I hope they grow up to be just like him - kind, thoughtful, selfless, loyal, loving, adventurous, spiritual, hardworking, interesting and interested and sincere.

These two blokes are amazing too.  They are wonderful fathers and even better grandfathers.  They are loved to the moon and back.

He won't tell what his birthday wishes were but I hope they come true!

Even though it's not bonfire worthy, we still had to open the doors and windows to air out the smoke.

One of the highlights of the party were our cute dads and their lap dogs.

We ate rootbeer float cake and drank rootbeer floats too.  We had presents, balloons and lots of family to help celebrate the birthday boy.  Three cheers for a wonderful year for my man!

IT'S OUR ANNIVERSARY!

We're celebrating our 20 year anniversary today.

In 20 years, we have moved 8 times in the same city

purchased 1 home

created 4 boys

owned 1 iguana (RIP Ernie), 1 dog and 5 chickens

rescued and hand fed 1 baby bird and 2 baby squirrels

had 6-ish jobs and many hobbies
had fun vacations

owned 6 cars, 1 truck and 1 motorcycle

we've felt rich and we've felt poor

we've had good times and we've had not so good times

we've had sickness and we've had health

Larry Peterson, I'm so glad I'm the one that gets to be with you.

I love this man.  

I love that I get to kiss him whenever I want.

but today it's official.  It's officially his birthday and he is another year older and wiser.
Our little clan celebrated with Larry's favorite Chinese food, birthday party tiaras and a yummy cake.

He's rad and we love him.

IT'S LARRY'S BIRTHDAY!

Larry is turning another year older today, so if you're craving something sweet, you have the perfect excuse to indulge.
This man of mine is cool beans.  He is the best husband/father/friend/son/brother - kind, loving, thoughtful, supportive, giving, fun and talented.  He's the twinkle in our eyes and the smile on our lips. I could rave about his awesomeness all day.

WE CELEBRATED LARRY'S BIRTHDAY TONIGHT

with some of the family.  A yummy potluck dinner, red velvet birthday cake, a warm sunny evening with a cool breeze and Jack Johnson tunes playing in the background.  It was wonderful.

PS - Larry and Laird went bull frog hunting last night and served cornmeal deep fried frog legs.  He was so happy so many family members tried them.

PPS - Here's my main squeeze blowing out his 43 candles.  I absolutely LOVE my brother photo bombing the photo.  ha!

I'VE BEEN GETTING MY CRAFT ON

When I saw the Ryan Innes t-shirts, I was inspired. I knew I had to put Larry's face on a shirt for his birthday.
I sent a photo of Larry's face to my sister and she whipped up an image for me.  I pulled out my fancy schmancy screen printing supplies and went to work last night.

Seriously, can you believe how high tech I am?  Hahaha!

I made one for the man clan and me.  Although Larry's birthday isn't until Thursday, we're celebrating with the family this weekend.  Our little clan are going to be sporting these beauties of the birthday boy.

I'm loving how they turned out.  It was a fun surprise for Larry to wake up to!

GERMAN SAFETY GOGGLES

In November I bought Larry some German safety goggles for a Christmas present.  They said they would be delivered by April 14.  The goggles have arrived!  So even though it's super late for a Christmas present, they're actually early.  And, they are SO RAD!

Last night he was wearing them while on his phone and while we were watching tv.
This was cracking me up so bad.

Doesn't this remind you of the Notting Hill movie scene?

Larry said, "Wearing these goggles, I feel like I should be welding or riding our motorcycle.  Better yet, welding WHILE riding the motorcycle."
Unfortunately, he can't wear them right now on our motorcycle because it's in the garage torn apart.  Maybe in a few months.  As far as welding, yeah, he can do that.
I want to get a photo of him longboarding in them.  Oh, the possibilities.

1993 WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR

I am proud to say we have been married for 19 years.
It's hard to believe that we have now known one another for half our lives.

In 2010, I shared 17 reasons why I love him, so now I am going to add two more to the list.

18.  When I wake him up because he's snoring, he will roll over.
19.  He impersonates Elvis.

WE HAD A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

for Larry last night with our families.

42 candles, birthday wishes, balloons and helium fun.

A vegan 1234 cake with yummy frosting and strawberries.

And presents, presents, presents for the birthday boy.

18 family members, 2 dogs, a lot of chatter, energy and laughter.  It was a fantastically fun evening.

CINCO DE MAYO

Saturday afternoon we went to the Cinco De Mayo Festival at the Portland Waterfront Park.  We rode on a few rides and Larry got to eat food that was not vegan.  He was a happy camper!
