Larry and I drove to Bend to see Ben Harper. I'm so glad we did, it was so much fun.We met up with Etienne, Paul, Spencer and Cassie.
Jenny O. opened for Ben. Her band wasn't with her, unfortunately.

Haven't heard of her? Listen here - this is one of my favorite songs of hers.

There was a huge crowd up at the front of the stage. My brother-in-law, Paul, took my camera and delved into the crowd to snap a few shots. The above photo and the two below are what he got. I was so excited!

Top 5 Reasons We Loved Ben Harper's Concert

1. Ben is SO genuine and gracious.

2. Ben changes instruments for every song.

3. The amphitheater was amazing.

4. Ben played a couple of unreleased songs. Masterpiece made me swoon.

5. Ben played a one hour encore. Seriously people. One hour. How cool is that?!

I'M HIGH ON FLOWERS,

Brandon Flowers, that is. What an awesome concert!
In September Larry bought us tickets to see Brandon Flowers playing at the Roseland and the night finally came! The energy in the theater was exhilarating! Larry and I have had some awesome date nights and this one is definitely one of the best!We were front and center and it was so much fun! Fran Healy opened and oh my goodness is he funny and he had great music!
The only thing I would have changed about the evening is not to have to take photos with my phone - I wish I could have had my real camera with me!
I just have to say it one more time - the concert was awesome, awesome, AWESOME!!

We went to the see Devotchka and it didn't disappoint - they were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and it was so much fun!

There were two opening bands...

Portland's Ritchie Young...

And Portland's fun and energetic Vagabond Opera...

Devotchka was incredible!

They were fun, energetic, superbly talented - I didn't want them to end!

Needless to say, we had an uber incredible date!

I HAD A MOVIE DATE

with one of my man clan....

This was my favorite part of the date....

We saw How To Train Your Dragon and we both give it two thumbs up - we loved, loved, LOVED it!

LARRY AND I HAVEN'T

been bowling for ages!

It was super fun even though I just might be a really bad bowler.....

WE HAD AN INCREDIBLE TIME

at Pat's Acre Racing Complex in Aurora. It was SO MUCH fun doubling with the Despains...

And we went to PF Changs and ate like kings on their half priced appetizers.

LARRY AND I SAW RENT TONIGHT

and it was amazing!
We saw it the first time eight years ago when it came to Portland and we loved it!
There were more F-bombs than I remember but RENT was just as amazing as we had remembered it being...
Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp were insanely brilliant in their roles...

FYI: This musical is not for children. We were surprised to see some younger folk in the audience. Ummmm, no.
