OUR AVATAR GOT HIS BLUE ARROW
When Landon got his avatar haircut, he really, really, REALLY wanted his arrow to be blue. We told him that if he still liked his Aang haircut in a few weeks, we'd dye it for him for the last week of school.
Tonight was the night.
The first step was to bleach his hair. He was so excited when he saw it blonde, he asked, "Since I have golden hair, does that mean I'm the golden child of the family?"
It's blue now and the arrow has been reshaped. He is ecstatic!

THE LAST AIRBENDER
We let our boys have creativity with their hair until they are twelve. Why not? It's just hair. Do you remember Laird's red mohawk?
Landon has been wanting his hair cut like Aang's for quite sometime. Tonight was the night.
My brother, Derek, wanted to be the barber and the image below was the inspiration.

PS - we were going to take bets on how long the arrow would last, but the mohawk lasted a lot longer than we thought it would. We'll see....

A DRAMATIC BEFORE AND AFTER
Purple hair.
That is one of the things my sister has always wanted and would Stephanie-Palooza be complete without her getting purple hair?
She has always had jobs where "no unnatural hair color" was allowed. We say she's been 'oppressed by the man'.
Now that she is unemployed and Scotland bound, she decided to go for it and last night her purple hair journey began.
This is my awesome hair stylist, newly engaged, beautiful sister-in-law Jill.
She took on the 4 hour task to take Steph to violet purple-ism...
My mother-in-laws sink is now the lovely shade of violet...
After three bleach jobs (one on the bottom and two on top), a whole bottle of violet, bags and pins up nostrils, 4 hours of surprise visitors saying good-bye and sneaking a look-see plus a fresh haircut, Stephanie's purple journey is complete and now she's really ready for her Scotland adventures.
