IMAGINE DRAGONS, NICO VEGA AND ATLAS GENIUS

For Christmas, Santa brought us concert tickets to see Imagine Dragons, Nico Vega and Atlas Genius at the Roseland Theater.  The day finally came!

Nico Vega was incredible!  Aja is a stud.  She was seriously amazing.

It was such a fantastic evening.  We love concert dates with our boys and Imagine Dragons concerts are our favorite!

A MIDNIGHT SISTER DATE

Stephanie flew in late last night.  Our parents were going to pick her up, but we decided that a midnight airport pickup would be way more fun if it was a surprise sister date.  She is only here for the weekend, so we have to get all the time we can with her.

Erica and I arrived with signs and a lei.  Sarah couldn't make it so we put her head on a stick, so she could still participate.  We provided a lot of giggles and smiles at the airport.  It's not everyday you see a smiling head on a stick.

I know this photo is horrible, but it's the only one we have of us all together.

Since we couldn't celebrate her birthday with her earlier this month, we took Stephanie to Voodoo Donuts on the way home.  We got her favorite donut and brought a candle along for her to make a wish.

It was such a fun surprise!

HE'S EIGHT AND LIFE IS GOOD

We had a birthday party tonight for Landon with some of the family to celebrate his eight years of life.  Presents, balloons, cake, ice cream and lots of fun attention - what more could an eight year old want?

He seriously melts my heart.  I'm so lucky I'm his mom.

FEAR FACTOR EVENT FOR ACTIVITY DAYS

We had 13 of our girls show up and man, did we have a great time.
We did a Fear Factor event, which was a mixture of Fear Factor and Minute To Win It, (but Fear Factor sounds so much cooler.)

One event was a blind tasting.  There were three fruits and three vegetables.  When you don't know what you're eating, it's a tough thing to decipher!

Another event was mummification.  Teams had rolls of toilet paper to turn their mates into mummies.  The girls got quite creative.

One event was a blowing relay.  Teams used two cups and a straw.  They had to blow the cups from one end of the table to the other and then tag their team mate to do the same.  If the cup was blown to the floor, they had to start over.  The girls mastered control very quickly and showed the best sportsmanship.  I was very impressed.

Two other events were speed bingo, using a scripture bingo I found online (now I can't find the site I used) and cookie face relay (you put a cookie on your forehead and have to get the cookie to your mouth using only your face muscles - no hands.  Absolutely hilarious!)

Our last event (and hands down the favorite) was the ice cream sundae event.  Ice cream, lots of whipped cream, chocolate syrup and sprinkles and you guessed it - no hands.

The girls were such great sports, had loads of fun and demonstrated wonderful team work and sportsmanship.  I see a summertime version in our near future.

IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE

Lach went on his first field trip today.  He also went on his first school bus ride.  It was excitement city.

We went to the Elsinore Theater to watch a play - If you give a mouse a cookie.  It was wonderful.  This field trip was a home run and I had the cutest date in town.

Stephanie is one rad chica.  She's living in Hawaii chasing her dream.
She is an incredible sister who's always up for an adventure or one of my hairbrained ideas.  And I'm always up for hers.  We have a lot of fun together!
In the Aunt department, she is a double scoop of awesome sauce with a cherry on top.  Her nephews and nieces absolutely adore her.
This chocoholic is a very talented artist, is so smart and has the best laugh.
One of my favorite things about her is when she is trying to tell you something funny.  She gets laughing so hard, you can barely understand her but you're laughing so hard right along with her because it's so funny hearing her try to tell you.  I love it!

GERMAN SAFETY GOGGLES

In November I bought Larry some German safety goggles for a Christmas present.  They said they would be delivered by April 14.  The goggles have arrived!  So even though it's super late for a Christmas present, they're actually early.  And, they are SO RAD!

Last night he was wearing them while on his phone and while we were watching tv.
This was cracking me up so bad.

Doesn't this remind you of the Notting Hill movie scene?

Larry said, "Wearing these goggles, I feel like I should be welding or riding our motorcycle.  Better yet, welding WHILE riding the motorcycle."
Unfortunately, he can't wear them right now on our motorcycle because it's in the garage torn apart.  Maybe in a few months.  As far as welding, yeah, he can do that.
I want to get a photo of him longboarding in them.  Oh, the possibilities.

SOMEONE IS TURNING 40 TODAY!

It's not me - it's my brother Ivon's birthday.

This photo is an oldie but goodie {- i love it -} and pretty much sums up his relationship with my man clan.
He's an awesome uncle, a wonderful brother and loving son.  He knows the best random facts, is a hard worker, smart and is just down right rad.

WE ARE CELEBRATING TWO BIRTHDAYS TODAY!

This guy here is the best father-in-law in the world, awesome father and grandpa and an amazing husband.
He raised wonderful children who are just as kind, loving and thoughtful as him.
We fondly refer to him as Grandpa Joan.

And this giggly-goose is my cute niece, Maddie, who is so adorable it is ridiculous.

I WALKED ON A FROZEN LAKE

Well, not exactly ON it - there was a floating dock surrounding a swim area at the Dierkes Lake, and I walked on that.  I have never been on frozen water like that before and it was amazing and oh, so beautiful.

PS - doesn't this house remind you of the house from UP? All it needs is the balloons!
