They met one weekend in California and the rest is history. 

These lovebirds are celebrating 48 happy years!

We went to Mor Art to make fused glass coasters today.

It was a Mother's Day gift that was being redeemed and it was so much fun being creative and giggly with these gals.  We had the best afternoon.

CLAMMING WITH GRANDMA AND GRANDPA JOAN

We went clamming and it was so much fun!

Siletz Bay had so many clams it was insane.  Bubble holes everywhere and every dig was a success - some of the holes had twelve clams!

Laird and Grandma Joan got the award for fastest clamming - they need to enter a clamming contest.

ONE OF OUR FAVORITE PLACES

is at the beach for 4th of July weekend. This year we watched fireworks at Boiler Bay and, luckily for us, some whales showed up for the show too. Family, snacks, blankets (lots of them - it was super windy), bubbles, energetic boys, light sabers, laughter, whales and fireworks = an awesome Independence Day celebration.

was brought over to us tonight by Grandma Joan - a sprouting potato....Let the potato sprout a few more days, cut into wedges and leave out to seal.
Plant in soil and when it grows, you dig them up and you have a "pot of gold"en potatoes to eat!

Grandma Joan lovin' this morning when she helped us celebrate the first day of Christmas Break and we helped her finish celebrating her birthday...

Part of her birthday gift from us, was for us to treat her to some homemade cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa.
