I'VE BEEN GETTING MY CRAFT ON

When I saw the Ryan Innes t-shirts, I was inspired. I knew I had to put Larry's face on a shirt for his birthday.
I sent a photo of Larry's face to my sister and she whipped up an image for me.  I pulled out my fancy schmancy screen printing supplies and went to work last night.
Seriously, can you believe how high tech I am?  Hahaha!
I made one for the man clan and me.  Although Larry's birthday isn't until Thursday, we're celebrating with the family this weekend.  Our little clan are going to be sporting these beauties of the birthday boy.
I'm loving how they turned out.  It was a fun surprise for Larry to wake up to!

BEACH BREAK

This screen print is for my semester final on Wednesday. It is a 9 color separation. My inspiration was this photo from our trip to San Clemente, California.
I'm really pleased with this project and am hoping for an "A".

THE THREE AMIGOS

This is my lastest project that was seven color separations.

I chose to keep it simple, sweet and embrace a project without a lot of fine detail. That being said, I did have more detail on Lily but it didn't wash out in the screen and I didn't have time to redo that section. Not my favorite project but I learned a lot. This photo was my inspiration.

MY FIRST SCREEN PRINT PROJECT THIS TERM

I was so excited about this project. I took my favorite photo I've taken of Larry to use as inspiration. I wanted to do something different and really cool for him. I kept it a surprise and wanted to wow him with something amazing.

I decided to do shades of grey and have it be a little abstract. Seven colors and two and a half weeks of work, I completed it. It's not as I had envisioned. I'm SO disappointed.

He looks like a smiling zombie!

STEPH AND I SCREEN PRINTED

shirts a few nights ago for Eclipse....The front reads:
"Bought tickets two months in advance.....$20.00 Popcorn and drink......$10.00 Watching six consecutive hours of hot guys.....PRICELESS"....

I saw new and old friends in the huge line.....

The movie was GREAT and it was a nice bonus to see all the movies back to back....

It made for a long evening but it was a blast!
Did you see the midnight showing too?

I WAS BURNING THE MIDNIGHT

oil with my sister last night working on a screen printing project for a co-worker of hers.
Remember this class I took? She took it too and loved it, as I knew she would.
If you want to take a fun class that is inspiring, contact Andy - you'll be so glad you did!
Steph is an uber talented artist and drew this amazing graphic for the project....

We drank Sobe Life Water. Yummy Pomegranate is my fav....

And we screen printed onto a scarf that Steph is making...

We loved the scarf so much we made one for us too....

I WAS UP UNTIL THE WEE HOURS

of the night having so much fun screen printing and my hubby was a champ helping me change out tshirts and crank 8 of these out before my paint dried....
Front and back took way longer than it should have but for my first screen printing solo, I'm quite pleased!
If you're in town at the midnight showing of New Moon, come find me!

I WAS GIDDY THIS MORNING

as I headed up to Portland. Why?
Because Andy Kane has moved from San Francisco to Oregon and I was enrolled in his screen printing class...
I was able to make this tote!
It was taught as a true DIY class with tons of tips for success. I give the class an enthusiastic two thumbs up!
It was very inspiring and I totally recommend the class to anyone who has an interest in screen printing.
I can't wait to purchase supplies and to start experimenting!
Oh the possibilities....
