ANCESTOR HOMES

I've been looking through old family photographs my sister has scanned and have been drawn to family pictures taken in front of their homes. I think this is such a treasure. I absolutely love seeing my ancestors and their homes!

In 2008, my sister and I took an impromtu family history trip. We knocked on the door and got a tour of the home!

This year, my goal is to have a family picture taken in front of our home.

I HAD A BIRTHDAY EXCURSION

to the Valley of the Giants with my father today. This is a 51 acre, old growth forest with trees over 400 years old. The trees are mostly hemlock and douglas fir and the tallest is over 200 feet tall.
There is a beautiful, peaceful trail, almost a mile and a half, that meanders through the area.

This was my favorite part of the hike.

I was so excited to find this heart shaped mushroom.

It is out in the middle of no where, with a curvy one lane you share with logging and gravel trucks (it got a bit scary at times). Although I got a bit queasy, (I'm one of the lucky peeps that gets car sick), it was an awesome afternoon adventure with my dad and a wonderful birthday hike.

LANDON AND THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS

I'm making a little book for Landon with photos from his baptism. The beautiful cherry trees are in bloom down at the capital, so I thought it would be fun to have a little photo shoot in his church clothes to add to the book.
Here's a sneak peek of our morning date.

This little bloke has sensitive eyes. It was so funny watching him try to keep his eyes open. We have many photos with an unintentional funny face and eyes closed. Too bad I didn't have sunglasses in the car for him. We could have had a "blues brothers" look. Hmmmm, I need to get him a fedora.
