GLOW IN THE DARK DRIVEWAY

When I saw this post on A Cup of Joe, my heart went pitter-patter.  Can I even tell you how much I want this done to our driveway?  Glow stones in gravel is my new favorite thing.

A BOY AND HIS ONE OF A KIND SCOOTER

Lach isn't confident standing on his longboard yet, but is a machine on a scooter, so Larry modified his longboard into a scooter and we have one happy, happy camper.

He has stars in his eyes for his daddy.

PS - He also has no fear, which is unfortunate for my heart and the pit of my stomach.

IMAGINE DRAGONS AT WATERFRONT PARK

Yes, we've seen Imagine Dragons in concert three times this month. We just can't help it.  Their music speaks to my soul, and it's not everyday that they come to the northwest.  And the entire man clan agree - Imagine Dragons knocks our socks off.
It was just Larry and I for this concert and we had four jealous boys - muah, ha, ha.

It was a perfect Portland evening, with a front row view of one of our favorite bands who put on a ridiculously awesome show.

SLINGSHOT

Larry and I went on a slingshot that flung us 100 mph - woo, wee was it fun.  So much fun, we did it twice!

IMAGINE DRAGONS CONCERT IN SEATTLE

When Larry and I went to the Imagine Dragons concert in Portland, we had some really bummed teenagers.  So when they added an all-ages concert in the Seattle area to their schedule, I got us tickets.
Want happy teenagers?  Get them Imagine Dragons tickets!

The boys were REALLY hoping they could meet the band, but towards the end of the performance, they announced they were heading out immediately to catch a red eye flight.  Oh, our boys were so sad.
Thankfully, Ryan, I.D.'s tour manager, found us so the boys could quickly meet the band.  Besides being amazingly talented, these guys are the nicest guys ever!  Needless to say, we had beyond ecstatic teenagers!
Larry, with Ryan and his LongBoardLarry board he has named "citrus" and Dan, Image Dragons lead singer
Our happy teenagers with their perm-a-grins and Uncle Steve.  It was a really fun night!

SNEAK PEEK - STAIRS

Our two week project for the older boys' room is turning into months and months.  Not because anything is hard or too time consuming, it's just, lately, we aren't ever home.
The cubbies are built, they just need to be stained and have doors put on.  These deep cubbies are the stairs up to the hanging beds.

Next on the list, the back wall, window treatment and desks.  One of these days, this room is going to be amazing.

WE HAD A HOUSE GUEST FROM URUGUAY

for two days ( he was able to see Oregon rain free for half a day.)  We made sure he saw important things in Oregon - Voodoo Donuts, longboarding and LimeBerry.
Andres and Larry, after partaking in Larry's famous burgers and fries.
Longboarding with the kiddos
Fishing on the roof - don't ask, it's just a thing we do

He left this morning to visit Adam and you should have seen the boys trying to figure out how to tag along.  Landon wanted to stow away in his luggage.

The newest thing on the man clan wish lists?  Tickets to Uruguay.

THE LAST AIRBENDER

We let our boys have creativity with their hair until they are twelve.  Why not?  It's just hair.  Do you remember Laird's red mohawk?

Landon has been wanting his hair cut like Aang's for quite sometime.  Tonight was the night.

My brother, Derek, wanted to be the barber and the image below was the inspiration.

Introducing Landon, the last airbender.

PS - we were going to take bets on how long the arrow would last, but the mohawk lasted a lot longer than we thought it would.  We'll see....

WEDNESDAY FARMER'S MARKET

It is gorgeous outside and the thought of fresh flowers for the table and farm fresh produce for the man clan, the Wednesday Farmer's Market was calling my name today.

I have a foot injury (and having a pity party), so I told Lach if we found a spot right up front we'd go, but if not, we'd come back later with the older boys and have them be the gatherers.
It was meant to be.  I got princess parking and got all I wanted lickity split.  I would have loved to meander but that will have to wait for another Wednesday.
Tis the season to enjoy bounty.  Yummy!

CUPCAKES, BIRTHDAY WISHES AND A BACKYARD GET TOGETHER

is how my niece, Alivia, celebrated her birthday with the family.
I can't believe she is already 13.  When will someone figure out to stop our kiddos from growing up so quickly?
HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIVY!

COLOR RUN SEATTLE

was this morning and this race was amazing and so, so, SO much fun!
Larry hurt his foot, so he was unable to do the 5K with us.  Here we are all clean in bright white.

They sent us out in waves of 1000, every 2 minutes.  It was breathtaking seeing the seas of white.
Every kilometer, we got a different color.  So incredibly fun!

After the race we were a kaleidoscope of color - we loved it!
At the end they had a grand finale of color.  After a countdown, color got hurled into the air.  It was even more beautiful with the Space Needle as backdrop.

Now I'm even more excited for Color Run Portland in September!!

SEATTLE

We are having some Seattle fun this weekend with the older boys. Yummy food, a lot of fun and laughs, spending time with their Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Steve and doing a little sight seeing.

We love Seattle, it's gorgeous!
