Our garden's tomatoes are starting to turn from green to red, orange and yellow. I've had a tomato and lettuce sandwich everyday this week. They are so good!
My favorite right now are the yellow pear tomatoes. Fresh off the vine, warmed by the sun; they are heavenly.
How's your garden coming along? Mine is awfully slow this year.
I haven't planted any veggies yet for this year. I need to get my green thumb polished and ready for a delicious season. What's your favorite thing to grow?
all my life? We picked a carrot today from our garden - YUM!!! The one and only that we could see color peeking up from the soil.... We were very excited and can't wait for the rest to get growing so we can harvest them. We have a taste test planned for the three types of carrots we planted - Danvers, Paris Market and Dragon. Now our taste buds are extra anxious....
failure with our first attempt at gardening..... Corn and sunflower seeds are coming in great.....
Carrots are doing fantastic....
Celery is getting thick and bushy, as are the strawberries - no berries yet but we're hopeful....
Broccoli is a bit weeny and some little critter is liking it a little too much...
The tomatoes are no where to be seen but we're growing a few weeds, even though I Preened....
Even though some of our produce is struggling and some none existent, I absolutely adore being able to go and a grab a handful of butter lettuce and can't wait for more garden bounty to join it....
our garden this year. I dream about building my raised garden beds and the scrumptious veggies they will produce.... I've ordered my seeds from Seed Savers Exchange and can't wait for spring to plant my dragon carrots, yellow pear tomatoes, DeCicco broccoli, slobolt lettuce, Crnkovic Yugoslavian tomatoes.....
My camera is my constant companion and most of my life is an open book. This blog is a little of this and a little of that, but mostly things that make me happy, our humble lair and the people I love.
