SOME FUN LUCK MADE FOR A FUN FRIEND DATE

Kim's daughter, Anna, was listening to the radio when she heard 'text dragon to (blah, blah, blah) and you could win two tickets for the meet and greet with Imagine Dragons.'  Anna knows her mom likes them and so she texts the word dragon.
Next day, she gets word that she was chosen!  Only ten people were chosen and she was one of them.  Fun luck, huh!
Anna wasn't able to go with her mom, so Kim called to see if I was available.  Larry and I were taking the boys to their concert that evening, how was I going to break it to them that I would meet them in Portland because I was going to the meet and greet?  I presented the situation with a smile and batting of the eyes and bing, bong Jack, it was a go!
We got treated to an acoustic version of It's Time and a photo op.  With them being in a different city every night, I wasn't sure if they would remember me.  I was so excited that they did and they told me to tell Larry that they still love and ride the longboard.  Yay!
It was such a great afternoon spent with Kim.  Super fun!  I think Anna needs to enter contests more often so Kim and I can go on more cool dates.  Now that sounds like a plan!

IMAGINE DRAGONS, NICO VEGA AND ATLAS GENIUS

For Christmas, Santa brought us concert tickets to see Imagine Dragons, Nico Vega and Atlas Genius at the Roseland Theater.  The day finally came!
Nico Vega was incredible!  Aja is a stud.  She was seriously amazing.
Nico Vega (minus Aja)
This was the first time we saw Atlas Genius - we loved them!
Imagine Dragons never disappoint.  They are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. in concert.
Ryan!

It was such a fantastic evening.  We love concert dates with our boys and Imagine Dragons concerts are our favorite!

I RECEIVED AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT - LARRY TOOK ME TO THE KILLERS CONCERT!

It was AWESOME!  The two opening bands were Tegan and Sara and M86.  They were both great.

The Killers played the perfect mix of new and old songs, there were lights galore, fireworks and sparkly confetti.  It was perfect.

My ears are still ringing and I still have a smile on my face.  Best early Christmas present date night!
After the concert we went to Voodoo Donuts.  That was our bribe for the boys to be good and not to be too jealous.  Our poor teenagers, babysitting while mom and dad are at a cool concert.  Hahaha!!  Oh, the stories they'll tell when we're old and grey.
PS - see this?  There are people up there!
We didn't notice them at all....
until we saw them climbing their way up.  What a cool job!!

FRIDAY NIGHT

Larry and I went to see Chicago play at the zoo.  It was a perfect summer's night and middle school and high school memories were flooding back, as we sat there with my cooler toe elevated on my purse, swaying and singing along.  Without Peter Cetera, I was wondering if I would be disappointed, nope, I wasn't - it was wonderful.
It was a sold out concert and when we got there the lawn was PACKED.  We found a tiny patch behind a bush.  We thought it was so funny where we were sitting.  We didn't care a bit - the music was fantastic and we were surrounded by really fun people.
We weren't completely deprived of a view, we could see a smidge of the stage.
As the evening went on, some people moved spots, so we were able to move over and up.  Larry and I love people watching, and it was so fun watching people, of all ages, having a great time swaying, dancing and singing along to great tunes.  It was a beautiful, beautiful evening.

LARRY TOOK ME TO A NEON TREES CONCERT FOR MY BIRTHDAY

It was an amazing concert!
Neon Trees put on one energetic, super fun performance - they were incredible!

There were two opening acts - Nico Vega and The Devil Whale
Nico Vega was incredible.  Lead singer Aja Volkman is darling and really fun to watch.  She is incredibly talented.
We hadn't heard of The Devil Whale and really liked them.

It was a wonderful, wonderful night with my man.  I love that we still feel and act like we're 25.  I hope we always do.  Thanks for a fun night out on the town, babe.

IMAGINE DRAGONS AT WATERFRONT PARK

Yes, we've seen Imagine Dragons in concert three times this month. We just can't help it.  Their music speaks to my soul, and it's not everyday that they come to the northwest.  And the entire man clan agree - Imagine Dragons knocks our socks off.
It was just Larry and I for this concert and we had four jealous boys - muah, ha, ha.

It was a perfect Portland evening, with a front row view of one of our favorite bands who put on a ridiculously awesome show.
