They are beautiful but some of them have ulterior motives...
We saw Kung Fu Panda 2 last week, we give it two family fun thumbs up and now we want a peacock.
If only our yard was bigger and our puppy would leave it alone. If you get one, let us know so we can visit.

TRYING TO TAKE A NEPHEW
PAINTING NIGHT
with my sister was a fun event.I repainted my Fiji inspired painting and am much happier with the outcome this time.
And I painted a farmhouse inspired by Maurice Utrillo.
I'm glad she's back!

INSPIRED BY PAGE 160
in the June issue of Food Network Magazine, we hosted a family hot dog potluck.Of the ten magazine recommendations, we chose three topping combinations to try:
American - barbecue sauce, pulled pork, coleslaw
Polynesian - hoisin sauce, pineapple, scallions
Thai - peanut sauce, carrots, cilantro
Stephanie provided an entertaining talent show.
All the cousins had so much fun playing together and were thrilled that Steve came down for the weekend.
We ended with a smorgasbord of desserts, including BACON! - Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip, Bacon Cookies (page 95).
PS - the Polynesian hot dogs were the favorite.

BEACH HOPPING IS A FAVORITE
thing for us to do at the coast, although we do have our favorite spots.I swooned when I saw a little rental cottage, with a yard filled with these sea-side flowers scattered throughout the grass, with an ocean view.
Yes, he is pouting.
Lily found a new hobby. Seagull chasing.
On this beach, we arrived at low tide. The man clan found a fresh water runoff and decided to build a dam. I love free entertainment.
What's your favorite thing to do at the beach?

LILY'S DIARY
CLIMBING TREES
is something our boys love to do. There is a tree at the beach house that they have always climbed and it provides fun entertainment, no matter the season.
This weekend the tree was full of gorgeous spring blooms and it was fun hearing the boys' laughter (after they stopped bickering) while we were preparing breakfast.
Note to self - I need to find the photos of the older boys in the tree when they were the wee ones of the family.

SALT WATER TAFFY
is a yummy treat we like to get while we are at the beach. Our favorite place to stop at is Candyland in Lincoln City.
This green depression glass bowl belonged to my Grandma Betty and it's filled with our sweet salt water taffy.
Seeing this bowl filled with our sweet morsels makes me smile twice, once for my Grandma Betty memories and a second for our beach memories.
Our favorite taffy flavors? Vanilla, Mint, Peanut Butter and Molasses.
The man clan also likes to bring home micro mini jawbreakers.
